As a professional photographer it is important to experiment with new ideas, this keeps you fresh and leads to new techniques.  My aim is to lead others rather than being a follower.

Over the last couple of years I have experimented with HDR and have enjoyed being able to expose for both the hi-lights and  shadows in an image, this allows you to see more detail in a photograph than you are used to seeing in a photograph. This gives it the illustrative look.

Now that everyone is doing HDR imagery I feel the need to move on.  I have now started to experiment with lighting scenes bit by bit by touch light slowly building and image.

This is how I made the following image, there is no HDR involved but I am able to light all areas in the image with a large amount of control.  The next step is to light people in this manner.
